Habitat display typeface

Habitat is a display typeface inspired by the natural form and aesthetic of seagrass meadows. It was designed around the anatomy of seagrass blades, trying to show the strong roots at the bottom and the blades floating upright above.

The typeface comes in two weights, display and reactive. The display weight was made from a system of seagrass blades that was edited and distorted to fit each letter. The reactive weight takes the display weight and distorts each letterform to represent how the seagrass flows in weightlessness on the seabed.
The typeface is available to buy where 100% of donations go towards funding project seagrass on new programs of work.
